Not even Strictly Come Dancing finalists are safe from fake tan mishaps – just ask Helen Skelton.
The Countryfile presenter, 39, set the dancefloor alight with her jive to Janelle Monáe’s Tightrope for her first routine in this year’s grand final.
However, after receiving glowing feedback from the judges with pro partner Gorka Marquez, Helen realised her hands were orange!
‘Huge well done. You had so much fun doing it the first time round, what was it like doing it for the final?’, host Claudia Winkleman asked.
‘Loads of fun!’, Helen began. ‘We were really grateful for the chance to do this again.’
Cutting herself off after catching sight of her hands on the screen, Helen laughed: ‘I’ve just realised my fake tan on my hand! How bad is that?’

The whole group burst into laughter, as Helen pointing at the camera and said: ‘That’s Strictly, people!’
‘I’m not even gonna show you mine,’ joked presenter Claudia, who also makes no secret of her love of false tan.
It’s well documented that the Strictly cast are given regular spray tans, with some heading into the booth in their paper underwear once or twice a week.

As much as Strictly is about the tango out in the ballroom, it’s also heavily associated with being ‘tangoed’ physically.
Ahead of the Strictly 2022 final, Helen admitted she felt like she had ‘already won’ after a tough year personally.
The former Blue Peter presenter – who reached the final with Hamza Yassin, Fleur East, and Molly Rainford – signed up for the glitzy dance competition to push herself.

‘We would love to lift that trophy but I feel like we’ve already won it,’ she said on It Takes Two this week.
‘We’ve had such an adventure and you’re [Gorka] a credit to the show, you’re a credit to your family.
‘I think we have had the highs, the lows, and everything in between, and this is just a reminder for us to feel the fear and do it anyway! Stretch yourself, test yourself, and see what happens!
‘And if you surround yourself with good people, wonderful things happen.’
Strictly Come Dancing is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
