This Morning received an unexpected guest in the form of Barry Keoghan, who interrupted Alison Hammond’s tumultuous interview.
Alison, who hosts the ITV daytime programme with Dermot O’Leary every Friday, was among the stars on Sunday night when she co-hosted the Baftas with Richard E Grant.
She appeared on Monday’s broadcast of This Morning to chat with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about the latest news, but things took a turn when the Banshees of Inisherin actress decided to make an unannounced visit.
‘Who is this?! Is that Barry Keoghan, winner of supporting – I don’t know what he’s doing here. I ain’t got a clue what he’s doing here,’ Alison laughed as he pulled faces and flashed a peace sign to the camera.
Phil and Holly were taken aback by the sudden change of events and questioned the presenter whether she was still out at a Baftas afterparty.
‘Well… maybe,’ she cackled, before jokingly shouting after Barry: ‘Get back in the bedroom!’
She added: ‘I’ll tell you a secret. I’m actually going over to Ireland, and so is Barry. We’re at the airport.’
Holly and Phil questioned whether they were going on vacation together after Alison quipped that they opted to fly off after meeting for the first time the night before at the lavish ceremony.
She said the impromptu airport hangout was a ‘coincidence’ when they learnt they were both travelling to Barry’s hometown.
Thinking on her Baftas night in general, she said it was “such a fantastic night,” as she found herself in the audience alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton.
‘Honestly, it does feel like a dream. All I can remember is, I was obviously presenting and I remember looking down and seeing William and Kate beaming, looking up at me. And Richard E Grant was just an absolute dream,’ she gushed.
‘Then after the show, we spoke to Kate and William and they enjoyed the show. I just couldn’t believe it – you know when they’re saying your name, and you’re just like, you know who I am?!’
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV 1.
