Love Island producers are apparently bringing back the show’s most memorable competitors for the highly anticipated All-Star series, which will premiere next year.
The winter series, which began last month, has a new crop of islanders cracking on, with new presenter Maya Jama taking the lead.
Although the suspected lineup has been kept under wraps, employers are said to be interested in season five bombshell Maura Higgins, first-season Sophie Piper, and series two standout Kady McDermott.
According to rumours, the previously named candidates, as well as series three champion Kem Cetinay and series two star Scott Thomas, are at the top of the want list.
A source shared: ‘Love Island All Stars is in development at ITV and it is a concept they have been talking about.
‘The plan would be to invite some of the sexiest and most successful former islanders to see if they can find love for a second time around,’ they added to The Sun.
Metro.co.uk understands that nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
In a Reddit Ask Me Anything, executive producer Mike Spencer responded to a fan who inquired about a prospective spin-off.
He said: ‘I would personally love to make an “All-Stars” in the future with past Islanders across all series. What do you think?’
It seems the fate of the spin-off lies in the hands of the broadcast themselves, with Mike adding: ‘That would be a question for the channel.’
Fans in the comments were also keen with one writing: ‘As long as you bring our queen Maura it’d be amazing!’ with another agreeing: ‘Yeeeees. This cannot happen without Maura!’
Some islanders from the last seven seasons have gone on to have successful careers in the television and entertainment industries.
Molly-Mae Hague, Camilla Thurlow, and Dr. Alex George are just a handful of the people whose faces are still unmistakable years after they left the villa.
Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
