During the Wagatha Christie trial, Coleen Rooney demolished any finery associated with the Wag lifestyle in order to convey a “very plain and clear message,” according to an expert.
As the first look in her tell-all Disney Plus documentary was shown, the 37-year-old mother-of-four rejected luxury brands and power dressing, styling herself as more ‘legal team’ than footballer Wayne Rooney’s wife as she confronted Rebekah Vardy in court.
Judi James, a body language specialist, stated that in the three images revealed of Coleen in the next three-parter, she wants to’stick to the facts’ and ‘keep it all straight and down the line,’ which is represented in her modest attire.
She said: ‘Coleen’s visual statement here is emphatically Wag-free in terms of body language and styling. The courtroom poses show a woman who might be a stranger to designer dressing and any form of glamorous lifestyle, sitting modestly but calmly with all her non-verbal signals pared back to create a very simple and linear message.
‘The shoulder pads are off here, so there’s no suggestion of power-dressing. She sits slightly diminished to imply she’s humbled by the courtroom setting but also confident in her version of “right”.
‘Her hair is plaited in a neat frame around her face but then it hangs down, long and straight, while her face is turned upward, presumably towards the judge, with an expression of what looks like calm justification and honesty from the direct gaze of her wide eyes and the closed but not clamped lips.’

Judi added that the open notebook indicates Coleen is’ready to start,’ while the’very tiny angle of her forward lean’ indicates she is eager to share her side of the story.
She continued: ‘Outside the courtroom she adopts a look that suggests “legal team” more than Wag-in-the dock. Again the look is serious and overall slightly dour. Even the handbag is plain black, suggesting she’s going to keep it all straight and down the line, sticking to the facts as she sees them.’
Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story will explain how Coleen became an amateur web sleuth in order to figure out why private tales about her and her family kept appearing in the media.
It will investigate the circumstances surrounding her viral social media post in which she claimed to have conducted a months-long sting operation and accused Rebekah Vardy, the wife of footballer Jamie Vardy, of leaking “fake tales” about her private life to the press.
Rebekah, 40, lost a libel suit against Coleen over the post in a trial that captivated the nation last summer, when a High Court judge ruled it was ‘substantially accurate.’
Her investigation talents earned her the moniker Wagatha Christie, after the famed mystery novelist.
The three-part documentary will also look at Coleen’s life and marriage to player Wayne Rooney over the previous two decades.
Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story is coming to Disney Plus later this year.
