The wife of an ex-boyband member has stayed mum regarding reports that he could feature on the upcoming season of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
In just over a week, the long-running reality series will return to television screens.
While ITV has yet to announce the official lineup, Nigel Farage and Jamie Lynn Spears are believed to be packing their bags and heading Down Under.
There are lots of other names in the running as well, some of which were mentioned on This Morning on Thursday during a discussion about the programme.
However, host Rochelle Humes was interrogated regarding allegations that her husband Marvin Humes had signed up to compete in Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly’s Bushtucker Trials.
Marvin, 38, is best known as a member of JLS, who finished second on The X Factor’s fifth season in 2008.
He went on to host The Voice from 2014 to 2016.
Marvin was rumoured to be one of the new campmates last week, and now his wife has weighed in on the speculation.
When former Queen of the Jungle Vicky Pattinson, who was hosting the episode, asked Rochelle if her husband would appear, she remained tight-lipped.
After a photo of him popped up on a screen, Rochelle exclaimed: ‘Oh I know that guy quite well!’
When asked whether she had any inside information, she stated that her husband was now on tour, implying that his itinerary was already full.
‘Looks like I’ll be doing the school run then,’ she added when speaking about the possibility of him travelling to the other side of the world.
‘But he does have a busy schedule at home,’ she added.
The conversation rapidly shifted to other names in the mix, and Rochelle was relieved of the obligation to continue discussing the matter.
When reports emerged Marvin could be part of the line-up, a source told The Sun that he would be a ‘brilliant signing’.
‘Not only is he known to fans of The X Factor and fans of JLS, but the audience for The Hit List and This Morning spans from kids right through older viewers,’ they said.
‘And with Rochelle’s backing, he’s got a readymade fan base. He’ll have lots of showbiz stories to tell, too, from his 15 years in the limelight.’
They also added that ‘the fact he’s remained a bit of a pin-up doesn’t hurt and bosses hope he’ll make use of the jungle shower’.
I’m A Celebrity returns to ITV on Sunday, November 19 at 9pm.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
