I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! fans were stunned when Nick Pickard was eliminated in the most recent episode.
The Hollyoaks legend followed in the footsteps of Frankie Dettori, Nella Rose, and Fred Sirieix on the newest edition of the long-running reality series as the fans decided to send him home.
The actor, 48, has played Tony Hutchinson since the show’s inception in 1995.
While many of his fellow celebs were disturbed by the variety of meals they had to ingest while in the jungle, Nick told hosts Ant and Dec that what he’d eaten was one of the joys of the trip, adding the kangaroo tail wasn’t as horrible as imagined.
He did, however, say he was ready to leave camp after two weeks and the development of an itchy rash.
He described the invitation to appear as a “honour.”
‘I said yes for the fun of it, and it was so much fun,’ he said.
Despite Nick’s lack of enthusiasm about leaving, many folks back home were disappointed.
‘Gutted Nick has gone…strange results this series,’ one person posted on X, formerly Twitter.
‘Nick is so nice – best leaving interview so far as well. You can tell he had a great time but was happy to be done. Lovely bloke,’ someone else wrote.
Another added: ‘I’m sad Nick has gone. He’s such a lovely man I really wanted him to win.’
Many questioned why he had been taken home while former politician Nigel Farage remained.
‘NIGEL FARAGE IS IN THE CAMP AND YOU’RE TELLING ME NICK GOT VOTED OUT??????’ someone posted.
Many others agreed with them, saying they wanted Nigel gone as quickly as possible.
Following Nick’s elimination, six recognisable faces remain in the competition for the title: Nigel, Josie Gibson, Sam Thompson, Marvin Humes, Tony Bellew, and Danielle Harold.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1.
