Lauren Harries’ family has announced that she has been released from the hospital.
The Celebrity Big Brother 2013 contestant, 45, has spent the most of the year in the hospital following emergency brain surgery.
She then developed infections and was placed in a coma as a result of severe convulsions.
Her family has now offered a heartfelt update on how the family will be able to spend Christmas together at home.
‘Update: Laurens out of hospital,’ they posted on the star’s X, formerly Twitter, page.
‘It’s been the most stressful 7 months of our families lives.
‘But she’s home in time for Christmas.’
They also posted a message from Lauren, who rose to prominence as a kid on shows like Wogan and After Dark for her understanding of antiques.
‘It’s wonderful not seeing the worry on my family’s faces anymore. Merry Christmas thank you to all of my stars for your love.’
Lauren has been on TV shows such as Celebrity Big Brother, Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, This Morning, and Naked Attraction as an adult.
Lauren’s mother, Katy, confirmed Lauren was in the hospital after the emergency surgery in April.
On April 14, Katy issued a plea on Twitter asking people to pray for her daughter after the procedure, saying: ‘Please pray or send good thoughts to my precious daughter Lauren who is recovering from emergency brain surgery today.’
She has provided updates on her daughter’s status on social media in the months afterward.
Lauren has experienced hair loss, a “permanent headache,” blackouts, being placed in an induced coma, and spinal surgery since then.
She expressed her appreciation in May after disclosing she had nearly died.
‘Nearly dying makes you appreciate every moment. So, enjoy the sunshine and know that I love you. Light, love and peace,’ she wrote on social media.
