On Monday’s I’m A Celebrity…, Fred Sirieix lost his normally cool composure… Get me out of here!.
On the famous dating programme, the First Dates star is the first port of contact for people looking for love, and he is recognised for his calm and pleasant demeanour.
But he lost his cool when speaking with fellow I’m A Celeb participant Nigel Farage at the campground over – you guessed it – Brexit.
The father-of-two, who is French and has lived in the UK for many years, became up in a furious debate regarding the Brexit campaign with the former Ukip MP, who was a prominent participant in the 2016 vote.
He hit out at Farage for his party’s controversial poster at the time, which claimed Britain was at ‘breaking point’ with immigration by showing a queue of migrants with the slogan ‘the EU has failed us all’.
‘Brexit was about immigration, I remember your poster. I thought it was shameful what you did Nigel. Shameful,’ Fred said.
Farage responded by saying that his billboard was ‘absolutely true. It was a poster showing mass young men moving illegally across borders.’
The maitre d’hotel argued it was ‘demonising migrants,’ which Farage refuted, adding it was only in Fred’s opinion – to which he replied, ‘it’s not just my view.’
Farage went on to say that Brexit was all about being “in charge” and “self-governing.”
‘We can get it right, we can make an absolute mess of it but we’re in charge and the people who make those decisions we can hire and fire at elections.’
Fred was having none of it, claiming the ‘average person in the UK has lost out because of what you’ve done.’
The heated debate erupted after Farage referred to former Prime Minister Boris Johnson as “entertaining in small doses.”
He said the former Conservative leader was ‘one of the most disorganised human beings that possible ever lives. The whole thing’s bloody chaos. Shambles.’
It didn’t take long for Farage to be mocked by his fellow campmates and even hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who suggested that while he was in the jungle, all two of GB News’ viewers would miss him.
Meanwhile, Josie Gibson remarked that their first trial in the wild ‘can’t possibly be worse than Brexit.’
I’m A Celeb returns at 9pm Tuesday night on ITV
