A former boxing champion is rumoured to be appearing on the upcoming season of I’m A Celebrity…The cast of Get Me Out of Here! has suffered a tragic loss.
Tony Bellew will appear as a latecomer on the reality series, which premieres on Sunday.
He was initially revealed as part of a leaked cast list, but he has yet to be confirmed as a member of the cast.
However, he and retired jockey Frankie Dettori are believed to be joining as latecomers after the initial group of famous faces arrives at camp.
While it’s unclear if Bellew has already flown to Australia before the cameras begin rolling, he has revealed a recent family tragedy, sharing the news of his grandmother’s death.
On Saturday, the former Cruiserweight World champion paid a heartfelt tribute on social media.
Posting a series of photos of them together on Instagram, he captioned the post: ‘Goodnight Nan! I’ll love you forever girl…an amazing mother to my Mum in what I can only imagine was a difficult time.
‘You carried me and my three brothers like we were yours!’
He went on to share having her around was ‘like having two mums’, however joked about her disciplinary skills he was subjected to.

‘You always put us straight and told us off! You was the boss of our house…’
He concluded the post by writing: ‘97 years old! You were a lady and a boss right to the end. I love you Nan.’
Despite his defeat, Bellew appears to be on his way to the jungle, following in the footsteps of last season’s latecomers Matt Hancock and Seann Walsh.
This Morning’s Josie Gibson and Britney Spears‘ sister Jamie Lynn Spears are among the celebrities who will arrive at camp tonight.
Former UKIP leader Nigel Farage will also appear on the show, as will Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson, Eastenders’ Danielle Harold, and social media star Nella Rose.
Other confirmed guests include JLS singer Marvin Humes, food critic Grace Dent, First Dates’ Fred Sirieix, and Hollyoaks’ Nick Pickard.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! returns on Sunday at 9pm on ITV1.
