ITV has stated that there are presently ‘no plans’ to bring back the John Barrowman-hosted show All Star Musicals.
The Torchwood actor announced in 2021 that he would be quitting Dancing On Ice as a judge after making his début the previous year.
At the time, an ITV insider denied to Metro.co.uk that the 56-year-old had been “sacked,” saying that the judging group had merely been “refreshed.”
When he revealed his exit from the show, the network issued a statement saying, ‘We thank John Barrowman for two brilliant years on the Dancing On Ice panel and are pleased to be working with him again as host of the forthcoming All Star Musicals specials.’
However, ITV has now stated that there are no present plans to restart All Star Musicals, though this may alter in the future.
‘There are no current plans for new All Star Musicals specials at present but we wouldn’t rule out further shows in the future,’ the company told Metro.co.uk.

According to a source, the programme never had a fixed transmission schedule when it first began showing in 2019, so it could return in the future.
They also added that because there hasn’t been a commission, there hasn’t been a discussion about who would be taking part, including the presenter, judges, or competitors.
John’s departure from Dancing On Ice came months after he apologies for “tomfoolery” on the set of Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood, where he was accused of “repeatedly exposing himself.”
He insisted that his acts were never meant to be sexual, and lawyers said they couldn’t remember the incidents recounted by erstwhile runners.
Speaking to The Guardian, he said that his ‘high-spirited behaviour’ was ‘only ever intended in good humour to entertain colleagues on set and backstage’.
He added: ‘With the benefit of hindsight, I understand that upset may have been caused by my exuberant behaviour and I have apologised for this previously. Since my apology in November 2008, my understanding and behaviour have also changed.’
All Star Musicals is available to watch on ITVX.
