James Corden has disclosed a wild stunt he had planned for The Late Late Show featuring Jennifer Lopez, and it’s not what we were anticipating.
The 44-year-old Carpool Karaoke host is departing the show after nearly eight years, with only a few shows remaining.
And he’s still planning some treats, including drawings starring Kim Kardashian and Tom Cruise.
Talking about the show coming to an end, James said: ‘It’s everything I ever wanted this show to be.’
‘It feels incredibly strange and it’s an unnatural feeling to walk away from something that you love so much.
‘It’s not right, because you’re having such a great time. But at the same time, I’m so certain it’s the right thing to do.
‘I think it’s important to go out in the manner than we came in.’
James made the remarks on stage at The Late Late Show with James Corden discussion at PaleyFest LA on Sunday evening, where he told the press, including Variety, that certain segments were cut from the show.
According to the magazine, one of these included James and J-Lo spending a day together in a glass cage over Sunset Boulevard.
Unfortunately, owing to J-Lo’s timetable, it did not take place.
CBS will show the concluding hour of the series on Thursday, April 27 at 12.37am ET/PT, as well as a primetime special earlier in the evening, at 10pm.
CBS, which transmits the show in the United States, said more information about the special, as well as the guests who will appear over the next two months, would be revealed in the coming weeks.
Previously, James discussed his choice to quit the show with Drew Barrymore, saying, ‘Look, it’s not simple in any manner to step away from something that is so… I mean, I’ll never work in a greater setting than this one.
‘Nothing about leaving the show was to do with not enjoying it. I love it, but the truth is it became a very easy decision because I always knew it was an adventure and I never ever considered it to be the final destination.’
The Late Late Show with James Corden airs on CBS in the US.
