Jamie Theakston’s antique automobile was discovered’miles away from home’ after it was stolen.
Sophie Theakston, the former Top of the Pops presenter’s wife, announced on Instagram that the couple had a ‘tearful reunion’ with the classic Triumph convertible, Esme, which went missing over the weekend.
She wrote: ‘Oh my Goodness…. Where do I start. Firstly, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to Mark and his lovely wife who found Esme late last night and let us know where we could locate her. She was miles from home and had been driven into the ground.
‘So after a tearful reunion, she promptly broke down on the M25, tired and emotional (she is very sensitive 😭). But after a couple of hours on the hard shoulder in my pyjamas 🤣 we were rescued and finally got her HOME!’
Sophie praised her followers for their assistance in the hunt and stated that there were ‘tears of joy’ after feeling a ‘real disappointment in mankind’ following the incident.
She continued: ‘And yesterday I was reminded what a great country this is and how many really kind and caring people there are in it.
‘Thank you to you ALL for your lovely supportive words and advice yesterday. She’s back. She’s safe. I know she’s only a ‘thing’ but she’s my very old and very beautiful thing and I love her. And the bad guys didn’t win on this occasion…..kindness did 🫶🏻 Love to you all…. 😘.’
Jamie, 52, also thanked his followers for assisting with the hunt and shared a picture of Mark and his wife next to Esme.

He wrote on Instagram: ‘This is Mark and his wife – he found our car last night in Surrey – he’s a superhero – the next picture shows the car on the hard shoulder after the thieves drained the radiator and it’s final journey home on a low loader.
‘THANKS to everyone who helped bring her home. It’s been a busy night – Now for a brief moments sleep before my breakfast show.’
Jamie, 52, complained on X, then known as Twitter, on Monday that his ‘totally unique’ automobile had been stolen over the weekend.
to the p***k who stole our car last night – you picked the wrong one – it's completely unique and everyone is looking for it – spread the word #triumphownersclub #stag #stagownersclub #ClassicCars #triumphstag #classiccar #classiccardaily pic.twitter.com/Xb1LTJAved

To notify his fans, the Heart Radio DJ, who does a programme on the station with Amanda Holden, uploaded two photographs of the convertible vintage Triumph, which was brilliant green and is supposedly popular with his two dogs.
Jamie captioned the post: ‘To the p***k who stole our car last night – you picked the wrong one – it’s completely unique and everyone is looking for it – spread the word.’
It is the second time in a year that the former Live & Kicking presenter has had his car stolen.

Last October, Jamie said on his Heart FM breakfast radio show according to the MailOnline: ‘It was 2am when my doorbell rings and it’s the police.
‘They say ‘Mr Theakston your car has been stolen. It’s just appeared on a tracker and it’s about an hour away.’
He added: ‘I quickly realised that the woman had nicked the keys off the table in the hall-way.’
Let’s hope it’s not the third time around for Jamie.
