Jay Blades has claimed that he frequently two-timed women in his teens, and that his womanising days were once so intense that he romanced two sisters.
The Repair Shop presenter, 53, is now happily married, yet as a youngster, the furniture restorer broke hearts.
Reflecting on his love life today, Jay has described how he managed to date many females – and it sounds fairly messy.
‘We’re talking about lots of girls,’ he has said about his dating past.
‘There were a lot of broken hearts along the way.’
‘There was even one point where I was going out with two sisters and they lived in the same house.’
He continued: ‘It’s crazy — imagine that. I told them not to tell each other, and they didn’t.’
Jay claimed it was ‘really bad’ at the time since he was also seeing another female.
‘They came round to my house at different times. I would say to one of them I was somewhere else, and I wasn’t,’ he shared on the latest episode of Gyles Brandreth’s Rosebud podcast.
However, he did insist he was always kind to every one, saying he ‘did make them laugh’.
‘We’d go out partying, mainly reggae and ska, two-tone they were playing, and then someone took me to a soul party and there were more women than there was at the reggae,’ he explained.
‘And I said to myself, “Hold on a minute, I’m missing a trick here, there’s all men at that party and there’s all women here”. I just went to soul parties from there.’
Jay has blamed his terrible attitude on his strained connection with his mother, Barbara Cumberbatch.
Jay said how, because of his likeness to his absent father, she never gave him affection, which led to a run of dishonest and short-term relationships.
He said the ‘two-timing’ began when he was barely 12 and branded himself ‘extremely bad’.
‘The reason why [I made these choices], and I figured this out later, is because I was looking for that mother figure,’ he said, as reported by The Sun.
‘Imagine not receiving love or not understanding what love is or not having this kind of notion of “OK, that is motherly love, that’s the love you’re supposed to get”.
‘You then start searching for it and hence why I dabbled with a number of women when I was younger. I was looking for something.’
He did, however, confess that he has maintained contact with several of his ex-girlfriends, adding that he gets along ‘with all of them’ and that he believes they ‘understand’ what he did.

Jay married his second wife, Lisa Zbozen, last year, and she urged Gyles to confront him about his thoughts on monogamy now.
‘Yes, one hundred per cent. My missus, Tiny, she’s wow. She’s come along at the right time in the sense I’ve grown up now and I’m so content. You need the right team around you,’ he said.
Jay claimed earlier this year that as an adult, he realised he had at least 27 siblings from his father, whom he referred to as “the man who contributed to my birth.”
Jay said on the Big Fish with Spencer Matthews podcast that he’d only spoken to his father four times in his life and had once attempted to find out how many siblings he has.
The number was ultimately revealed, and Jay met 11 of them throughout the years.
