Joel Dommett has acknowledged that he notified Davina McCall that his wife Hannah is pregnant before telling his own mother.
The 37-year-old comedian and 32-year-old model announced the good news on Instagram last week, and it turns out the former Big Brother host was the first to find out.
Joel was getting ready to go on Davina’s BBC Radio 2 show when Hannah texted him to tell him they were expecting a baby, just as Davina stepped back into the room.
‘I haven’t really mentioned this before,’ he remarked on Monday’s edition of Loose Women on ITV. We found out because I was supposed to go on Radio 2 with Davina McCall, and we were about to go out with Davina that night.
‘Hannah sent me a message saying, “I’m pregnant.” I said, “Oh my God!” And then Davina walked in and I was like… Ahhh! She’s like, “What’s wrong?” I’m like, “Hannah’s pregnant!”
‘So Davina was the first person that found out. I told Davina before I told my mum!’
Last Wednesday, the couple announced their pregnancy on Instagram with two sets of black and white photo booth images.
Alongside the pictures revealing her bump, Hannah wrote in the caption: ‘Does anyone know how to change a nappy?’
She then added in a brutal quip: ‘Because Joel has s**t himself.’
The Masked Singer host, who recently disclosed a surprise work connection with Sienna Miller, married Hannah in Mykonos, Greece in 2019, after nearly three years of courtship.
The couple met on social media, as he previously revealed to the Loose Women panel: ‘We met on Instagram. She sent me a cat emoji with the heart eyes.
‘That is the modern equivalent of the old phrase “you had me at hello,” now it’s “you had me at cat emoji.” ‘
