In a first glimpse at his enigmatic new Doctor Who role, former Glee actor Jonathan Groff has changed into a Duke.
The 38-year-old was recently confirmed to be appearing in a’mysterious and intriguing guest role’ with Sex Education’s Ncuti Gatwa and Coronation Street’s Millie Gibson.
And this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the trio dressed up as their period-drama avatars.
Millie appears in a recently published photo wearing a brilliant yellow gown and white gloves appropriate for a Duchess, while Ncuti and Jonathan stand royal in their tailcoats.
Ncuti, 30, wears a burgundy blazer over a white bow tie and knee-length socks with his buckled shoes.
Meanwhile, Jonathan matched in a royal blue tailcoat with a waist jacket and what looks to be a pocket watch hanging on his waist, possibly alluding at his character’s plot.
Jonathan recently stated of his new part, ‘I am so pleased to enter into the brilliant imagination of Russell T Davies and see the incredible Ncuti Gatwa fly in this classic role!’
Showrunner Russell added: ‘This is an incredible coup, and a great honour, to get such a huge star striding on to our set.
‘So strap on your space boots, this is going to be a blast!’
Sci-fi fans have already seen the first images of Millie and Ncuti in Doctor Who, and the couple has been sighted filming on location, however specifics regarding the forthcoming season have been kept under wraps.
Ncuti’s first scenes as the Fifteenth Doctor will appear later this year, but not until Tenth Doctor David Tennant makes a triumphant return as the… Fourteenth Doctor.
We can hardly wait!
Doctor Who returns in November on the BBC and iPlayer.
