Myleene Klass was obliged to attend a ’emergency white bikini meeting’ after the swimwear became popular following her stint on I’m A Celebrity South Africa.
This year, the 45-year-old returned to the jungle for the South Africa special, with Carol Vorderman and Fatima Whitbread.
Her first appearance on I’m A Celebrity was in 2006, when she and her white bikini became one of the show’s most talked-about moments.
The swimsuit’s history is still going strong 17 years later, and it has officially sold out.
The singer has launched her own swimsuit range with Next, which includes a triangle bikini top and tie bottoms that look to be a big success with fans.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Myleene shared: ‘It’s so funny, we’ve had to rush into Leicester – here we are with all the gang for an emergency white bikini meeting.’
She added: ‘You guys are buying them all up, we need to get some more into the country for you.’
When fans debate their most memorable jungle experiences, Myleene’s shower scene comes up again and again, but the identical one she wore in camp was auctioned off for charity following her time on the ITV programme, collecting £7,500.
Myleene pondered on her experience in camp and how she came to own the white bikini in 2020, when the show aired from a castle in Wales owing to Covid.
‘I remember one of the show producers looking at my bikinis in the hotel before I went to camp,’ she began on social media.
‘One was covered in stripes, “We’ll have to stop at the shops as that’s probably going to strobe on camera”. I ran into the shop en route to the jungle, asked the shop assistant for the plainest bikini she had.
‘Best £40 I ever spent… especially as it raised so much for charity afterwards,’ said the mum-of-three.
Myleene replicated that legendary incident in a near-identical white bikini on Tuesday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity South Africa.
Ahead of entering the camp, she had reflected on that viral scene, saying: ‘After doing the programme I saw the photo and I was like, “My goodness, it does look glamorous”, but it certainly didn’t feel like it – far from it!
‘There are worse things to be known for than being really clean! Since then, I have had three babies and I don’t look like that now.’
She added: ‘I am really proud of how strong my body has been. It has been through lots of trials and tribulations since and part of the reason for doing this all star version is I want to remind myself of that.
‘I do feel like a different person, I was in my 20s when I first came into the jungle and now I’m in my 40s.’
I’m a Celebrity… South Africa continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1.
