Kaley Cuoco has revealed how her new TV programme, Based On A True Story, was altered during her pregnancy.
The Big Bang Theory star and partner Tom Pelphrey are expecting their first child later this year.
In a recent interview, the 37-year-old said that her next Peacock series was adjusted at the last minute to include her pregnancy journey, with everyone involved going above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable.
‘When I signed on for [Based On A True Story], I was obviously not pregnant and it was written very differently,’ she began. ‘We’re getting started to shoot, we’re talking literally a month or two out, I met with the producers and I was like, “Um, what do you think about writing this character pregnant?”
‘Crazily enough, they wrote it in.’
She also praised her managers for ‘taking care’ of her during the assignment.
‘It ended up being such an interesting part of this show. The show is so funny and so wacky and so strange,’ the mom-to-be continued to Entertainment Tonight. ‘The best part about it for me is I get to be pregnant, eat whatever. I get to wear the most comfortable clothes, everyone treats me like a queen.
‘I had like 17 different chairs on set. If you’re working up until the end of your third trimester, which I am, this was the way to do it. Obviously this is the first time in my life I’ve ever done this, so they’ve really taken care of me and amazingly enough, I actually think it’s a great part of the show.’
Kaley was originally linked to Ozark actor Tom last year, revealing that the couple fell in love at first sight.
They announced their romance in May, and in October, they shocked fans by announcing that they were expecting their first child together.
During a red carpet interview, Jim Parsons, who co-starred with Kaley on The Big Bang Theory, couldn’t help but express his excitement at her baby bliss.
He told the publication: ’She’s going to be incredible. She was a mother-like figure to me for many years on Big Bang, even though I’m tremendously older than her.
‘She’s a comforting presence. It was a pleasure to work with her day in and day out.
‘She’s a very warm person, and I think that child is lucky to have her for a mother.’
