Katie Piper’s provocative comments on Loose Women regarding a “goth baby” sparked Ofcom complaints.
The panellist, 39, debated whether parents should force their lifestyle choices on their children on an episode that aired on December 22.
Kaye Adams, 60, Judi Love, 42, and Nadia Swahala, 58, joined her, and the group focused their attention on a mother, Reby Hardy, who had renovated her home to mimic the Addams family estate following the arrival of Wednesday on Netflix.
Katie didn’t hold back her thoughts after seeing a video of the woman’s newly renovated home.
‘I don’t like that interior,’ she said, before going on to add: ‘It’s all black and dark. Babies don’t like that.

‘I’m just going to put it out there it’s giving me satanic vibes, it’s giving me bad energy, it’s toxic, I don’t like it and also, it’s a baby.
‘The cots are tomb. You can’t put your baby in a grave.’
Katie’s comments sparked uproar on social media at the time the episode aired, with one viewer writing: ‘Lost all respect for Katie Piper after her comments on Loose Women.’

Another fumed: ‘Goths are some of the nicest people, often more accepting of others and super friendly. Shame on you @loosewomen, especially @KatiePiper_ for spewing rubbish on such a platform, encouraging ridiculous stereotypes about a wonderful community.’
Ofcom, the television regulator, has since confirmed that it received 62 complaints.
Misogynistic and bullying behaviour on Love Island, as well as Matt Hancock’s appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, were revealed last month to be the most complained about moments on television in 2022.
The two ITV reality shows topped the scoreboard in Ofcom’s annual report, but Jeremy Vine and Good Morning Britain also received complaints.
The television regulator received 36,543 complaints regarding over 9,500 issues in total, with the authority completing 74 broadcast standards investigations.
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV1.
