Keanu Reeves may play fearsome hitman John Wick, but he looked anything but frightening while covered with pups during a recent interview.
On Thursday, the actor consented to take part in the appropriately called Pup Quiz while appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote the next installment in his franchise.
The conditions were simple: Keanu and Jimmy each had to answer a question correctly in order to receive a golden retriever puppy to snuggle.
If they answered incorrectly, the dog would be taken away and handed to their opponent.
The winner would be whomever had the most puppies in the end.
The first question put to Keanu was: ‘What is the only species of reptile native to Ireland?’
Jimmy then replied incorrectly once more, resulting in more pups for Keanu.
He had six puppies in his lap at this moment and shouted, ‘Who’s the puppy king? ‘I’m the King of the Puppy.’
After seeing the footage, many viewers stated it was one of the most heartwarming TV pieces they’d ever seen.
‘Cuteness on top of cuteness. Keanu and puppies might just be too much cuteness for my eyes to endure,’ one person commented.
‘I don’t think I’ve ever seen Keanu Reeves so happy during an interview ever,’ another added.
Keanu has played John Wick in four films over the last decade, the most recent being John Wick: Chapter 4.
Earlier this month, he stated that there were some characteristics that kept him returning to the persona.
‘I like his humour, I like his will, I like his grief and it’s really fun to play him in these films, these films are fun,’ he said.
His Matrix co-star Laurence Fishburne reprises his role as The Bowery King, Ian McShane reprises his role as Winston, Lance Reddick reprises his role as Charon, and singer Rina Sawayama makes her film debut as Akira.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs on NBC in the US.
