The BBC has announced that Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington will join the ensemble of Industry season 3.
The popular BBC and HBO series features a group of competitive young workers striving for success at the fictional London investment firm Pierpoint & Co.
The 36-year-old actor, who is expecting his second child with wife Rose Leslie, will portray Henry Muck, the CEO and creator of Lumi, a green tech energy business that is about to go public.
In the third season, the young financiers will become entangled in the business as Pierpoint looks to the future and places a large wager on ethical spending.
According to the Line of Duty presenter, the plot will reach the highest levels of money, media, and government.
The Game of Thrones actor, who played Jon Snow in the fantasy drama, joins Industry following a dramatic second series that saw the employees, who can no longer hide behind their graduate status, at the mercy of Pierpoint’s back-to-work-or-else mandate, which had the trading floor more charged up and paranoid than ever.
They also had to deal with the advent of US management, which infuriated Harper (Myha’la Herrold), Yasmin (Marisa Abela), and Robert (Harry Lawtey).
As Pierpoint and its junior bankers sought every edge in a post-Covid world, the eager but cutthroat youths were also tasked with generating new business and forging new relationships both inside and outside the office.
Sarah Parish, Nicholas Bishop, Sagar Radia, Mark Dexter, and Caoilfhionn Dunne appeared as regular characters in the second season.
Mickey Down and Konrad Kay developed, wrote, and executive produced Industry, a Bad Wolf show for HBO and the BBC.
Series three production will commence in the UK later this month.
Judy Farrell, the performer from M*A*S*H, died at the age of 84 after having a stroke.
Industry’s first episode was directed by Girls actress Lena Dunham, who also serves as the show’s executive producer.
Seasons one and two of Industry are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
