Kylie Jenner has blamed post-partum hormones for her son’s first name, Wolf.
Soon after releasing the name of her second kid with ex-Travis Scott, the make-up entrepreneur, 25, abruptly backtracked, explaining that the name ‘didn’t really seem like it was him.’
After claiming that the Goosebumps rapper, 32, kept changing his mind about the baby’s name, the reality TV personality, who is also the mother of Stormi, revealed 11 months later that her baby was named Aire.
On the season finale of The Kardashians, Kylie, who is said to be dating Timothée Chalamet, revealed she immediately regretted choosing the name Wolf.
Kylie Jenner sat down with her longtime best friend Stassie Karanikoalou and lemon twist martinis in her luxury Calabasas estate to reveal she had ‘officially’ began legally changing her son’s name.
She said: ‘I’m going to do Aire Webster, A-I-R-E. I just always wanted a name for him that had meaning, it’s a Hebrew name, it means lion of God.
‘The advice I would give to you is find your name before your hormones start raging and you have the child. It was the hormones that took me out. I was too emotional, he’s so special to me, there’s not a name good enough for him.’
Kylie later said in a confessional that she ‘didn’t realise the postpartum would hit me that hard’ and otherwise would have ‘never ever’ called him Wolf.
‘That night I cried in the shower like, “That’s not his name. What did I just do? Wolf?”’ she added.
However, Kylie and the Sicko Mode Singer hit another snag when people pointed out that Aire has a somewhat terrible meaning in Arabic as slang for ‘penis.’
Journalist Antoinette Lattouf tweeted: ‘Umm should someone tell Kylie Jenner she renamed her son Aire which is a common Arabic expression for “my penis” or nah?’
Kylie and Travis originally made their relationship public at Coachella in 2017, but they parted temporarily in 2019 before reuniting.
Kylie and Travis divorced for the second time in early January, over a year after Aire was born.
The Kardashians is available to stream on Disney Plus.
