One of the country’s most adored celebrity couples will host the next series of Love Is Blind UK on Netflix… We couldn’t have asked for a better team for the job.
Former Big Brother presenter Emma Willis and Busted guitarist Matt Willis haven’t headlined a TV show together in almost a decade.
But what better way to break that trend than to seek out optimistic singletons looking for love?
According to reports, the couple, who have been married since 2008 and have three children together, are ready to take over the dating programme, in which contestants become engaged to someone they’ve never met before.
‘Emma and Matt caught the attention of show bosses following their documentary about Matt’s addiction battle – this was later boosted by Cooking With The Stars,’ a source told The Sun.
‘They were perfect for Love Is Blind UK, but still had competition from famous couples, including Marvin and Rochelle Humes.’
Famous coworker Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey co-host the US edition of the show, and they regularly give love advise to the couples they’ve met over the last three years.
Now, for those who need a refresher or haven’t watched Love Is Blind before (what were you watching during lockdown?!) here’s how it works.
The series’ concept is, as the title says, to inspire people to fall in love ‘sight unseen,’ as they like to repeat throughout the seasons.
The project begins with single men and women getting to know one other in pods.
While the men and women can get to know one other in their living quarters, they never get to see the faces of their possible suitors while having long and profound chats about their lives, goals, and dreams.
The couples must decide if they want to spend the rest of their lives together after their time in the pods… and some of them wind up getting engaged before they ever meet.
Following the proposals, the newly engaged couples are whisked away to a luxurious vacation together, where they may put their physical chemistry to the test for the first time.
They’re then assigned to live in flats together to test how they’d do in the real world… a time when the couplings are frequently made or broken.
Love Is Blind UK is set to launch on Netflix.
