Tanyel Revan may be prepared for heated conversations in the Love Island villa, but she’s also planning a verbal brawl with Piers Morgan.
The ITV2 competition’s 2023 series is just days away from debuting in South Africa, with new host Maya Jama preparing to welcome a group of hopeful singletons to a vacation they’ll never forget.
Tanyel, a hair stylist from north London, wants to get out of her “comfort zone” and meet someone new, but she thinks she’s single because she’s been “fussy” with men in the past.
The 26-year-old spoke to Metro.co.uk and other media outlets ahead of the Winter Love Island debut, explaining why she chose TalkTV host Piers as one of her ideal dinner party attendees.
The islander pointed out that the 57-year-old has already stated his disdain for Love Island, but that hasn’t stopped her from wanting to have a ‘heated’ conversation with him one day.
In June 2021, for example, he tweeted: ‘People are actually watching Love Island rather than the football tonight. I never want to meet those people.’

Explaining her demeanour with others, Tanyel shared: ‘I’m someone who can always respect if you agree to disagree. I’m never someone who’s forceful. I don’t care if you have a different opinion to me.
‘So I will never try and change someone’s mind because I also think if you’re quite honest and direct and straight, then I actually really respect that.’
Speaking about Piers, she continued: ‘That’s one thing I kind of like about him – that he’s so up front and that he’s all guns blazing. I do like that about him.
‘But I think I’d want to probably have a conversation with him because I feel like it would get heated and I think he’s quite an interesting person to speak to. I don’t agree with everything he says, but sometimes I really do. I think he’s just quite interesting.’

Given Tanyel’s willingness to debate with Piers, may there be emotional clashes between her and other people in the villa?
The hairstylist admitted that she might be “confrontational” and “straight,” but she always strives to treat everyone with dignity.
Confessing that she gets ‘angry easily’ and is ‘quite hot-headed’, she said: ‘I’m quite confrontational, direct and stuff with other people, but I’m quite respectful as well as a person.
‘I don’t want to really upset people. That’s never my intention. But I can’t help but say what’s on my mind.’
She explained that while she will provide her expertise as a hairstylist to the other participants, she does not want them to make fun of her so that she can sunbathe and enjoy the Love Island experience.
‘I’ll be happy to offer because you know what – it’ll be nice to do something that makes them feel better as well,’ she added.
Love Island returns Monday January 16 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
