It wouldn’t be Love Island without some tears and drama, and this time it was between Whitney Adebayo and Ella Thomas.
The entrepreneur, 25, and Ella’s bond was strained after the couple’s challenge on Thursday’s episode.
The islanders were asked to identify the pair they feel is the most one-sided, combative, and smug, among other vile characteristics.
Model Ella, 23, and Tyrique Hyde voted for Whitney and Lochan Nowacki, 25, as the most smug, which did not go down well.
While getting glammed up for the evening ahead, Whitney confronted Ella and asked her if she was ‘serious’ about the challenge before delivering the blow: ‘Ella, I have never met a selfish person like you.’
Clapping back, Ella fired: ‘That is the biggest lie I’ve ever heard. Whitney, you actually think your family the way you speak to me and it’s not ok.’

That is not the end of it.
Ella decides to approach Whitney later that evening following their awkward conversation in the changing room.
Ella said: ‘I want to get this off my chest because I don’t want to give it energy but it actually upset me when you called me selfish in the dressing room. It really upset me because I wouldn’t speak to my friend like that. I feel like that was coming for my character.’
However, Whitney wasn’t having it and replied: ‘I wasn’t joking Ella. Sometimes you do have selfish tendencies.’
Ouch.
Fans were outraged by their feud and urged the two to reach an agreement.
‘Whitney and Ella’s friendship ruined forever my goodness this must be how the UK reacted to Diana’s death #LoveIsland,’ one somber fan wrote on Twitter.
‘I can’t handle this rift between Whitney and Ella they were my girls,’ another lamented.
A third ordered them to ‘Wrap it up. Quickly.’
Will Ella and Whitney be able to put the past behind them?
