On Love Island, the tension between Sammy Root and Jess Harding is becoming… His statements, called “vile” by fans, aren’t helping matters.
On Tuesday’s episode, the pair argued about Jess admitting she wants to get to know her friend Mitchel Taylor on a deeper romantic level after he admitted to having emotions for her.
Despite the fact that Sammy had just told bombshell Leah Taylor that he had natural sexual connection to her, he was irritated by Jess’s desire to pursue her own choices.
Jess spoke in the Beach Hut about how she was feeling about their developing predicament after they had a spat by the campfire.
‘I just feel like, have a bit of a taste of your own medicine. Why should I feel like every boy should take advantage of my niceness? Because that is literally what happens every single time,’ she said, a sentiment that many fans have been backing her on.
In his own Beach Hut admission, Sammy then remarked: ‘Without sounding quite bad, I was Jess’ type. She wasn’t mine. I’m the one that’s sort of worked to… try something new explore Jess and now she’s trying to play games. Nah!’
Sammy shook his head, smiling at his own words… Fans were outraged by what he said about Jess behind her back.
‘Sammy clearly thinks he’s so much better than Jess and it’s vile to watch,’ one person tweeted.
‘Sammy’s comment about Jess was lowkey nasty…’ another wrote.
Someone else expressed how in shock they were by Sammy’s ‘audacity’, stating: I’m sorry but who gave Sammy the audacity.’
Another shared: ‘Eww not Sammy acting like he’s doing Jess a favour.’
The islanders were treated to a nice breakfast in their pairs during Tuesday night’s episode… until Maya Jama disrupted the party.
She said that they had to vote for the two couples they believed were the least compatible in their groups.
Later that night, it was revealed that Jess and Sammy, as well as Mitch and Leah, had gotten the most votes, making all four of them single.
But wait, there’s more… Suddenly two new bombshells entered the villa, eager to take them out on dates.
Will people’s heads turn? We’ll have to see what happens.
Love Island returns tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
