According to Love Island teasers, Ron Hall is in complete shock after Lana Jenkins reveals him who her famous ex-boyfriend is in scenes set to show on Monday night.
While a preview trailer for tonight’s episode suggested an explosive fight between Olivia Hawkins and Zara Lackenby-Brown, viewers will also be treated to a casual celebrity name-drop.
Lana and Ron’s courtship has clearly been heating up in recent days, with the pair sharing their first actual snog on Friday, despite Ron’s head swivelling all over the place.
However, Ron’s head will be blown in the coming scenes when Lana reveals that she has previously been in a relationship with a famous face.
After the islanders play a group game, the 25-year-old financial adviser is curious about which celebrity Lana has dated and asks her, ‘The actor, who was that?’
Lana responds with a laugh, ‘It’s my ex-boyfriend… his name is Owen Warner.’
Clearly shocked by what he’s hearing, Ron exclaims: ‘So basically I’m competing with someone who’s just come runner-up on a massive show and who’s an actor and I work in finance, yeah, erm, sick. This is great.’
And his disbelief doesn’t appear to fade, as he says in the Beach Hut, ‘That was a shock, I don’t really know what to think about it…’
Lana, a make-up artist, was previously rumoured to have had a brief romance with Owen in 2020 following his divorce from fellow Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davies.
The islander acknowledged her affair with Owen on social media at the time, with the pair posting a loved-up snapshot of themselves to Instagram that June.
Lana reportedly fell in love with Owen after being introduced by mutual friends while working on CBBC’s So Awkward.
Their love, however, did not last, and they parted ways after a few months.
When ITV2 inquired about Lana’s claim to fame, she remained tight-lipped.
Instead, she revealed that she participated in an episode of the TV comedy Benidorm when she was six years old and lived in Spain, and that her employment as a beautician also brings her into contact with celebrities.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1.
