Margot Robbie throws support behind Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu ahead of Love Island 2022 final: ‘They’ve made the season’

Love Island super-fan Margot Robbie has thrown her support behind fan-favourites Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Culculolgu, ahead of the final airing tonight.

The final tonight will see the Italian stallion and Turkish soap-star go head to head with Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, Gemma Owen and Luca Bish, and Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope, as one couple is crowned the winner of this series.

The Suicide Squad star has previously shared how big of a Love Island fan she is, and this year is no different.

She revealed: ‘This hasn’t been the best Love Island season ever, but that hasn’t stopped me watching it.

‘Paige has probably been my favourite — but for pure entertainment I think Davide and Ekin-Su have made the season.’

She added to The Sun: ‘Love Island reminds me of living in London — watching it with my girlfriends when everybody was home from work.’

Unfortunately, Margot’s favourite, Paige Thorne, was dumped from the villa alongside Adam Collard last night, after an entertaining Meet the Parents episode, which saw Paige’s mum quite wary about the returning bombshell.

Australian actress Margot is such a fan of Love Island that she based the theme of her 31st birthday party on the ITV show last year.

The Wolf of Wall Street actress and her friends posed for pictures shared to social media in an aray of colourful bikinis and swimming costumes, with her pal tagging the location of the picture as Casa Amor.

While they were actually in the US rather than Majorca, where the show is filmed, she has been an avid viewer for years, although she admitted it was hard to get into last year.

While being interviewed alongside her Suicide Squad co-star Idris Elba, Margot said on Lorraine that she ‘adores Love Island so much’, a love that she shares with the writer and director of the DC film, James Gunn.

‘He’s also a huge Love Island fan and we would talk about it all the time. We probably spoke about Love Island more than we spoke about this film when we were on set, we had our drink bottles on set,’ she said.

‘The current season, I haven’t really gotten into it yet, I’m struggling to get into it this season, but you know, it’s still early days and with the lag time of when you get the episodes in America, so I’m a little behind, but I adore it. I adore the show,’ she added.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
