The post-Casa Amor recoupling on Love Island may have been filled of dramatic twists and turns that had fans gasping in disbelief, but reportedly some chuckles were removed.
Maya Jama, the host of the ITV2 show, hosted the proceedings as the girls returned to the main villa to be reunited with the original males.
While there were some happy moments, such as Whitney Adebayo and Mitchel Taylor starting new, promising relationships, there were also some tense revelations, particularly when Tyrique Hyde saw his former partner Ella Thomas walk in with new man Ouzy See despite their relationship being ‘closed off’.
Maya, 28, remained cool, quiet, and controlled while witnessing all of the heated exchanges, with one Twitter user observing that she didn’t laugh at all during the ceremony.
In response, the TV host revealed that there were more laughs on the broadcast than people watched… but they were removed by ITV in favour of greater drama.
‘I’ll be real there was some unseen laughs but the drama had to be kept up,’ she shared.

Maya also added that even she was moved by the emotions while filming, tweeting: ‘Also could have shed a tear at the end.’
Before the recoupling, the TV personality teased her Twitter followers about the turmoil they should anticipate when they sat down to watch at 9 p.m.
‘I can confirm it’s a madness..’ she wrote… and boy was she right!

Several people said after the programme that it was one of, if not the, most dramatic Casa Amor fall-outs ever on the show.
‘This Casa Amor was the best one ever. The carnage was insane,’ one person tweeted.
‘This is the messiest casa amor ever,’ another said, while someone else wrote: ‘Sorry but that was the BEST casa amor re coupling I’ve EVER SEEN!!! I am shook to the core.’

Zachariah Noble is now back with Molly Marsh, who was previously dumped from the villa and returned with the new batch of girls; Sammy Root is now in a new couple with Amber Wise; Mitchel is in a new couple with Abi Moores; and Whitney brought back newcomer Lochan Nowacki from Casa Amor.
Catherine Agbaje opted to marry Elom Ahlijah-Wilson, while Montel McKenzie and Leah Taylor were reconciled, and Ella and Ouzy were in a relationship.
Jess Harding, Kady McDermott, Scott van-der-Sluis, and Tyrique are among the islanders that are now single.
Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
