Last summer, Love Island producers surprised the public when Adam Collard returned to the villa, and now new host Maya Jama has revealed which past contestant she’d like to join him.
Maya, 28, will make her ITV2 debut on the show when the winter series begins in South Africa on January 16, and she has already arrived in Cape Town.
When asked who she would want to see make a surprise appearance, she responded none other than Theo Campbell.
Theo, 31, rose to prominence during the third season of the dating show in 2017.
During his time in the Majorcan escape, the athlete had an affair with Tyla Carr, which enraged Jonny Mitchell. His time in the villa, however, was short-lived, as he was eventually dumped before the final.
‘I found him hilarious,’ Maya shared, before referring to Theo’s infamous quote: ‘That line about “leave with them”.

‘We were all feeling it and Theo actually said it. You need that honesty sometimes!’
Since leaving Love Island, Theo and Sapphire Yhnell have had a baby, Aries, in February 2021.
He lost eyesight in one eye in 2019 after a champagne cork popped in his face in Ibiza.
Maya has been a Love Island fan for years and believes it was the first reality programme, other than Big Brother, that she made a point of watching.

‘Everyone gets involved, everyone has opinions – from the older people in your family to the younger ones,’ she said.
‘It’s just fun, it’s fun to see how people play out in different situations and wonder what you would do if you were in the same position. Most of us have had a bit of a holiday romance before and it’s like watching that on telly.’
Sharing what she thinks makes the perfect islander, she added: ‘Someone that’s looking for love, someone with a lively personality, somebody who is open and shares their feelings, but also someone that’s not afraid to keep their options open and test the waters.
‘Just someone that’s willing to get stuck in and get fully involved in every bit of the experience and all the challenges. Make the most of it!
‘And allow it to be a proper test and see if your relationship can carry on through that, rather than play it safe. I think that’s what makes the best Islander.’
Love Island launches on January 16 at 9pm on ITV2.
