The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, will formally join the ranks of This Morning as a new guest presenter.
Since Holly Willoughby‘s departure from the ITV programme last month, there has been much conjecture about who would take her place.
While Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary have continued to head the show, many stars, including Rylan Clark and Cat Deeley, have briefly taken her place.
Sarah, who married Prince Andrew in 1986 and is the mother of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, will appear on the show with Alison and Dermot on Monday.
The 64-year-old will also co-edit the episode with boss Martin Frizell.
‘I have appeared on This Morning before, but this time I am coming back in a very different role,’ Sarah said in a statement obtained by MailOnline.
‘I love live TV and am an enormous fan of the show, and the whole team is always lovely to deal with.’
She continued: ‘I’m looking forward to being there for the whole morning, and thrilled to be guest editing the show which will mean getting to explore some topics that I’m passionate about.’
This Morning boss Martin added: ‘We are all delighted Sarah, Duchess of York wanted to come back here and I’m very happy for her to make some of my decisions on Monday.
‘She has a great understanding of the show and how television works and I feel viewers will be really interested in the running order she is putting together.’
