Noel Fielding has been in several intriguing situations over the years, but one interaction the comedian had with Lorraine Kelly sticks out in his memory.
Back in 2011, she was a guest on Never Mind the Buzzcocks when she surprised many by spanking Noel after he’d been a touch too wicked for her liking.
Lorraine made it obvious she wouldn’t tolerate Noel’s hissy fit and declared he’d be chastised for being a naughty boy when he threw a Punch and Judy doll off his desk.
‘Right, that’s a spanking. That’s abuse, bend over. Very naughty,’ she declared before spanking him with a wooden paddle.
Looking back on what occurred with Lorraine, Noel, 50, said it happened after he parted a bit too hard.
‘When I used to do it, I would get s***-faced before the show and take the guests out to the Groucho Club and it would end up really messy,’ he said.
‘Once, I hadn’t been to bed for a few days and when I came into the studio, Lorraine Kelly chased me around and spanked me over the desk with a wooden spoon.
‘At that point I didn’t know if I was dreaming or if that was real, but I knew I needed to go to bed.’
Noel was noticeably agitated at the moment, joking that he’d need to avoid saying “anything sexual” to the TV host.
‘Do you think if you said that (something sexual) it’s like saying it to your mum? Is that what it is like talking to me about rude things?’ Lorraine questioned him.
Not missing his chance, the comedian replied: ‘You’re not like a mum, you’re fit.’
The show first aired on BBC Two in 1996, with radio DJ Mark Lamarr presenting alongside team leaders Phill Jupitus and Sean Hughes, and the next 31st season will include Greg, Noel, and fellow co-panellists Daisy May Cooper and Jamali Maddix.
Never Mind the Buzzcocks returns at 9pm on August 23 on .
