A compilation video from decades ago emerged on Twitter, featuring a slew of A-listers auditioning for roles in the film.
It was posted to an account with the username All The Right Movies, with the statement ‘Great film of cast tryouts for BACK TO THE FUTURE (1985), including some very recognised faces.’
The video started with a very young Billy Zane, now 57, playing out sequences as the film’s antagonist Biff Tannen, who was eventually played by Thomas F. Wilson in the completed product.
It went on to show 21 Jump Street’s Peter DeLuise, 57, reading for the same part as Billy.
Then there was Kyra Sedgwick, 57, who auditioned for the role of Jennifer Parker at the time, which was subsequently played by Claudia Wells.
C. Thomas Howell, 56, was featured in the old footage as he auditioned for the lead role of Marty McFly, which went to Michael J Fox when the film was released.
Jon Cryer, 58, accompanied the actor in his pursuit of the main role and read his lines in the montage that went viral on social media.
Last but not least was Along Came Polly actor Ben, who was seen auditioning for the role of a much younger version of himself.
In the tape, the star could be heard reading lines that went like: ‘Lorraine, lately I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t know anything about my parents,’ in response to the character’s mother, Lorriane – who was played by Lea Thompson – in the blockbuster.
Ben continued: ‘Have you ever been, like, in a situation where … well, you know you have to act a certain way but when you get there, you’re not sure you can really go through with it?’
