The glitterball has been hoisted, and the ballroom is being set up. Yes, Strictly Come Dancing 2023 season 21 is now on the horizon.
After Family Fortune’s Les Dennis was confirmed as the final celebrity to take part, the entire lineup for the forthcoming series of the competitive dance competition has finally been unveiled.
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will return to the ballroom, as will Dave Arch and his fantastic band, who will provide the backdrop to the spectacular routines.
The BBC promises that the 2023 season will have “unforgettable group routines, world-class music performers, theme weeks, and, of course, the long-anticipated annual journey to the famous and much loved Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.”
So, when can we expect Strictly back on our screens?
So far, here’s what we know.
When could Strictly Come Dancing 2023 start?
As of yet, no date has been set for the premiere of Strictly Come Dancing Series 21.
However, given on prior years’ start dates, the series often begins in September, therefore it might begin on Saturday, September 9 or Saturday, September 16, 2023.
The season premiered in late September of last year. However, this was owing to the concert being postponed due to Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
Strictly ‘It Takes Two’ will also return, with Fleur East joining as a new co-presenter with Janette Manrara, who will return for a third series.

When it comes to the main show, we know that the judging lineup for this series will remain the same, with the ‘acid-tongued adjudicator’ Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse (Let’s Dance Germany judge), former pro-dancer turned judge Anton Du Beke, and ‘The Queen of Latin,’ Shirley Ballas, returning as head judge.
All of the pros from last year’s series, including Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Amy Dowden, and others, will return.
Though the celebrity roster for the 2023 season has officially been revealed, it has not been without controversy, with some fans accusing Layton Williams and Angela Rippon of unfair advantage owing to their prior dancing expertise.
From Waterloo Road actor Adam Thomas’ recent rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis to journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy’s BBC comments, season 21 of the programme has already gotten fans talking before a single episode has aired.
