Olivia Attwood sobbed for 24 hours after being forced to leave I’m A Celebrity… I Need to Get Out of Here! for medical and insurance reasons.
The reality TV regular, 31, was pulled off the programme a day into the 2022 season, and her team revealed at the time that she was ‘heartbroken’.
She has now revealed that being forced off ITV because she had low blood pressure and other alarming measurements, which led to insurers refusing to cover her stint on the show, left her in tears and fearful that people would think she quit because she was a ‘d***head’ who ‘didn’t fancy’ the show’s grimmer aspects.
Olivia told the latest episode of Jamie Laing’s Private Parts podcast: ‘It was basically a massive f**k up really. I was in there, I was fine, and they do routine medicals every few days.
‘They do them on site with the paramedics, and big hospitals would say [their measurements are] a guideline.
‘We’d had a really long day and I’m always on the lower end of blood pressure because I’m tall and slim, and they just did all these tests late one evening, and they were just like, they were worried about these tests.
‘They were like, “Everything is really low.” ‘
She added about getting the all-clear from a hospital: ‘They took me to a private hospital and they tested me, and they were like, “We’re happy.” So we had an overnight debate because the insurers were like, “The tests dropped this low.”
‘The hospitals sometime say, “Take it with a pinch of salt,” and the insurance said no because if she collapses… So it was basically red tape.’
She added about weeping all the way back from the jungle: ‘I don’t cry… and I cried the whole way back from Australia – the whole flight.
‘I spent 24 hours crying. The producers were all my Love Island producers and they were awake all night to see if there was anything, but then I’d broken the Covid bubble, so there were so many issues.
‘It was like that thing where it didn’t feel real – I wanted to do the show for so many years.. I kind of built it up into this massive thing. I definitely made it bigger in my mind… then you’re in… then you jump out of a f***ing helicopter, then it’s a crash.

‘I could process it, but it was very hard to process. I was like, if I heard it I’d be like, “Shut up, people are dying,” and of course they are, but it’s tough.’
Former racing grid girl Olivia, who placed third on the third series of ITV2’s Love Island, claimed she wanted to go on I’m A Celebrity to show people she wasn’t a ‘airhead’ and that she could ‘get my hands filthy’.
She added when news broke she had left the series she feared people would ‘think I came and had a look around and thought, “f**k this,”‘ and she would ‘look like a d***head’.
She claimed she heard rumours about why she quit the programme, including that she ‘simply didn’t fancy it’ and was pregnant.
Olivia previously stated that the tests conducted a day into the 2022 series revealed alarmingly low sodium and potassium levels.
