Amanda Owen of Our Yorkshire Farm just ended her 22-year marriage and has no plans to start dating again.
In the five seasons of Our Yorkshire Farm that aired before the pair announced their divorce in June of last year, the family of the shepherd, writer, and presenter, which included her ex-husband Clive, 68, and their nine children, were followed by cameras.
Channel 5 confirmed the series’ cancellation a few months later.
Amanda, now 48, has come forward to say that she is currently single and looking to concentrate on herself.
‘I’m just getting on with my life as an independent woman, looking after the kids… and my sheep,’ she said.
‘There was nobody involved in the breakup with Clive and I don’t understand why this is being suggested,’ she added.
Amanda said that she and her ex were ‘enjoying our lives and raising our kids together,’ indicating that they had reached an amicable co-parenting arrangement.
‘There’s absolutely no problem between us,’ she told the Daily Mail.
‘It’s been a very amicable split and we continue to work together. Everybody in the family is happy with the way things have turned out.’
Amanda and several of their children now live in a farmhouse on the property they share with their parents as they continue to manage the family farm together in Ravenseat in rural Swaledale.
While announcing their separation, the parents cited their children’s “happiness and well-being” as their first concern.
‘This hasn’t been easy, but we both believe it’s the right choice for the future of our family,’ they shared.
There are a total of fourteen children in the family: Raven, 21, Reuben, 19, Miles, 16, Edith, 14, Violet, 12, Sidney, 11, Annas, 9, Clemmy, 7, and Nancy, 6.
The two met in 1995 and made their first TV appearance together in 2011 on ITV’s The Dales, before Our Yorkshire Farm premiered in 2018.
Our Yorkshire Farm is available to watch on My5.
