Warning: spoilers ahead for Wednesday season 1.
We’re crossing our fingers that Gwendoline Christie’s Principal Larissa Weems will return for season 2 after she reportedly suggested that her tale wouldn’t be wrapped up by the conclusion of Wednesday.
The Nevermore Academy headmistress was murdered by instructor Miss Thornhill (Christina Ricci), who was actually the deadly Laurel Gates in disguise, in the Addams Family spin-off that has been one of Netflix’s biggest blockbusters in recent months.
In sadness, Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) watched as Principal Weems (Richard Kind) passed away before her eyes.
Gwendoline Christie, who plays Larissa on “Game of Thrones,” seems to have hinted at her possible return in a recent interview.
Many viewers are aware that it is possible for a character’s death to be a plot device if the individual is not shown being buried or if the character’s body is not shown being buried.
Recently, the 44-year-old actor discussed the potential future of the shapeshifter Principal Weems in an interview with Digital Spy, drawing on this information.
‘We haven’t seen her put in the ground, have we?’ she remarked, laughing as her interviewer replied: ‘Very, very true.’
Even if the principal appeared to be lifeless on the programme, remember that you’re in the Addams Family universe.
One of the protagonist’s ancestors is a ghostly Hand, Wednesday’s life was saved by a long-dead ancestor, and ‘normie’ Tyler (Hunter Doohan) turned out to be a Hyde.
In this reality, it’s best to have an open mind and not assume anything.
At the time of Wednesday’s season 2 renewal announcement, Jenna thanked the viewers from every corner of the globe for their support.
‘Thanks to everyone who made this upcoming season possible. This has all been pretty surreal,’ the 20-year-old said.
Morticia Addams’ mom, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, has said that the show “came out better than everyone imagined.”
‘Jenna Ortega is just marvellous as Wednesday and through the eyes of Tim Burton, it’s a lot of fun,’ she added.
Wednesday is available to watch on Netflix.
