Saturday Night Live in the United States welcomed Pete Davidson as its new host, and the 29-year-old actor couldn’t help but poke fun at Kanye West.
The Bupkis star’s opening speech addressed the Israel-Hamas conflict and touched on the loss of his father in the 9/11 attacks before returning to the typical sketches.
The episode, which aired on Saturday, October 14, centred on Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s unplanned appearance before travelling to the afterparty together.
The NFL player made fun of everyone’s crush on his fiancée, while the Bad Blood singer introduced her buddy and partner Ice Spice.
Pete decided to spoof Barbie and sing his own rendition of I’m Just Ken from the blockbuster film, so Ice Spice wasn’t the only one singing.
‘I’m just Pete,’ he said, mocking the Suicide Squad star and those around him, including Kanye West, 46.
The feud began last year when Pete dated Kim Kardashian, the rapper’s ex-wife and mother of his children.
While Kim, 42, has stated that she’regrets’ her’rebound romance’ with the comedian, her ex-husband made several public attacks on their relationship at the time.
Kanye branded her new boyfriend ‘Skete,’ a term that has stuck and now refers to a ‘pale, tiny white guy’ who is sleeping with your ex.
‘I’m just Pete, looking like a meth head on the street,’ sang Pete in the parody, rocking platinum blonde hair and jeans as he sat shirtless.
The song mocks his’show with Joe Pesci,’ his ‘butthole eyes,’ and his propensity to date some of Hollywood’s most beautiful ladies, including Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande.
Turning his attention to Kanye in the second verse, he sings: ‘People online still call me Skete because of a guy whose name I can’t say legally.’
At this point, the rapper’s face briefly flashes on screen as Pete whispers ‘shhh’, sending the audience into hysterics.
Fans loved the subtle dig with one saying: ‘Ha! I knew Pete would take a shot at Kanye! Well played.’
‘Travis [Kelce] cameo and now we get a I’m Just Ken ( w/ quick Kanye pic) parody? Total win,’ shared a second viewer.
Another added: ‘“I’m just Pete” 😭 Pete Davidson kinda funny idk. him also calling out Kanye West was funny too.’
The song concludes with Barbie and Ken colliding with a home, alluding to Pete’s reckless driving accusations and vehicle accidents.
Following the rapper’s inflammatory and anti-Semitic rants, Kanye is allegedly trying to find a record company to release his new album with Ty Dolla $ign.
After Universal Music terminated connections with him and denounced his words, his 11th studio album is being offered to five smaller companies.
