Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Bridget, has hinted that she would not be appearing in the forthcoming episodes of Bridgerton, thus the show may be lacking some of its usual pixie dust.
Fans can’t wait for the next episode of the Regency era historical drama on Netflix, which follows the Bridgerton children as they try to find spouses in time for the summer’s social season.
Both seasons chronicled the forbidden love of Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Dynevor). Season 1 centred on Daphne Bridgerton’s (Dynevor) electrifying relationship with the Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett (Rege-Jean Page) (Simone Ashley).
Season 3 is expected to centre on the romantic relationship between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).
Rege-Jean was noticeably absent from the second season, although Phoebe had a supporting role while her brother Anthony assumed the spotlight.
If her most recent statements are any indication, 27-year-old Phoebe may be planning to follow in Rege-footsteps Jean’s and not watch season 3.
At the Sundance Film Festival, the actress told ScreenRant, “Sadly not in season 3. Perhaps at some point in the future’
To which she continued, “But season 3, I’m just excited to watch as a viewer.”
Recently, rumours began circulating that production for season 3 had been put on hold because the scriptwriter had decided to scrap a “very dark” plot point, but according to Metro.co.uk, this is not the case.
Early this month, it was claimed that the cast had been spotted filming new episodes in Bath, the location of the Featherington family mansion.
Although there were some sexually charged moments in the second season of Bridgerton, some viewers were disappointed to find that there weren’t as many as they had hoped for in the third.
Speaking at the Pride of Britain Awards, the Lady Danbury actor said: ‘It’s season three so there will be lots of things you’re familiar with.’
She continued: ‘There will be the next Bridgerton child, in this case Colin, and we’ll find out what his romantic outworkings are, there’ll be a bit of How’s Your Father, no doubt, there’ll be some lovely frocks, there’ll be some lovely locations.
‘I will have some trouble that comes at me in surprising ways, and it’ll be more of the same, but with surprises. It’s got extra glam to it this season, I would say.’
Bridgerton is available to watch on Netflix.
