Nicole Kidman’s new spy movie Special Ops: Lioness has been scrapped before it even started.
The new show, which was based on a real U.S. Military programme, will follow the life of Joe (Zoe Saldana) as she tries to balance her personal and work life as the CIA’s spearhead in the war on terror.
Kaitlyn Meade (Kidman), who is in charge of the Lioness Programme, gives Joe a new partner to work with to stop the next 9/11.
The show was supposed to start this week in Los Angeles, but the event has been cancelled to show support for the Hollywood strikes.
Writers Guild of America (WGA) members went on strike months ago, and now Sag-Aftra union members have done the same. The strike started overnight.
With 160,000 members of that union joining the strike, it is now the biggest time that Hollywood has been shut down since both unions went on strike at the same time in 1960.

Because of this, officials from Paramount Plus said on Thursday night that the Special Ops presentation would no longer happen.
‘In light of today’s news of an official SAG strike, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the red carpet premiere of Special Ops: Lioness, planned for Tuesday, July 18,’ they shared in a statement.
‘We recognise this is disappointing news and apologise for any inconvenience it causes.
‘We are very excited to celebrate the series and can’t wait for it to debut to Paramount Plus audiences on July 23rd.’
According to Variety, Nicole and Zoe were expected to hit the red carpet at the DGA Theater Complex in LA with their co-stars Laysla De Oliveira, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Kelly, among others.
This week, Nicole and Zoe went to London to promote the show, which was made by Taylor Sheridan of Yellowstone.
But because of the strike, it was one of the first red carpet events to be cancelled.
It comes after the London opening of Oppenheimer was moved up an hour and the stars, including Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, and Matt Damon, left the event after the strike was officially called.
Special Ops: Lioness will premiere on July 23 on Paramount Plus.
