Roman Kemp was taken off guard after being asked to explain why he was left without shoes before appearing on TV.
The Capital Breakfast anchor, 30, spent the weekend co-hosting the Summertime Ball with Sian Welby and Chris Stark.
Despite having a few days to recover, he may still be sleeping since he managed to forget his shoes at home.
Following presenter Dermot O’Leary’s remark on Holly Willoughby for looking ‘fresh faced’ on This Morning, Chris immediately threw his co-host under the bus.
‘Can we just talk about Roman’s shoes for a second?’ he asked.
‘It’s the elephant in the room here.’

Jumping in, Roman said that the reason he was wearing socks and sandals was not due to a ‘poorly foot,’ as Dermot had assumed.
‘To be honest the whole weekend has been a total blur and then I forgot my shoes as I left the house this morning,’ he admitted.
Dermot, clearly taken aback, then threw some shade.
‘You left your shoes but you remembered them’ he said while pointing at Roman’s grey rubber slides, which he’d paired with some white socks.
‘No so I had these at work but I had ran and jumped in the car and genuinely forgot my shoes,’ he explained.
‘I apologise, but this is the best I could do.’
However Dermot did acknowledge that Roman ‘styled it out’.
It’s not the first time Roman has found himself in the subject of some mild mockery, having discarded a Crème Egg worth £10,000 earlier this year.
Roman was left with egg on his face in March after racing to enjoy the delicious delicacy before learning his half white chocolate, half milk chocolate version was actually incredibly rare.
‘What is this??? HALF WHITE HALF MILK CHOCOLATE??’ he tweeted, accompanied by a picture of him holding the unusual snack to share with his 300k following.
Fans, on the other hand, were eager to point out that the limited edition egg may be worth £10,000.
But, despite having confirmation of a winning ticket within the egg, which was necessary to collect the reward, Roman was disappointed when he discovered it was already far down in his stomach.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
