Ruth Langsford hosted today’s Loose Women programme, which aired less than 24 hours after husband Eamonn Holmes’ shocking interview.
During the interview with GB News, Eamonn made several accusations concerning Philip Schofield‘s life on another ITV show, This Morning. He said Phil ‘created an atmosphere where everyone despised him.’
‘People would avoid him in the corridor. He didn’t look at anybody, didn’t know anybody’s name,’ he added.
His interview comes after Phil, 61, announced his resignation from This Morning on May 20. He published another statement about a week later, admitting to having an affair with a considerably younger male colleague while still married to his wife of 30 years, Stephanie Lowe.
Eamonn, who formerly co-hosted Friday’s This Morning shows with Ruth, said the young runner in issue was ‘promoted’ without being asked and was moved from This Morning to Loose Women. He demanded that the ‘extraordinary move’ be probed, namely “who authorised it.”
He further said that Phil’s boyfriend was ‘brought from Phillip’s London house [to the ITV studio], generally on a Friday morning, because Thursday was playtime when he and Phillip would go out.’
Ruth, 63, was even referenced in the interview, with the suggestion that she is’still in touch’ with the colleague who had a connection with Phil.
To show Loose Women, the presenter had to put all of it aside, and several viewers praised her professionalism.
‘Poor Ruth looks tired and a bit drawn…Good for her turning up for #LooseWomen today,’ wrote one person.

Ruth mentioned Eamonn on the broadcast but avoided any discussion of the interview. Instead, she discussed how the pair feels when it rains when they are on vacation.
‘I get really sulky, like a petulant child. Eamonn will say: “It’s alright”, she told the panel.
