Rylan Clark was left horrified after Ant and Dec stitched him up properly in a covert ruse on Saturday Night Takeaway.
As Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly created a slew of Eurovision mayhem, the TV host, 34, became the latest personality to fall prey to the Geordie stars’ mischievous ways.
Before unveiling this year’s Armenian submission, Rylan believed he was going to a studio to record some social media material for the annual singing competition.
But, in typical Saturday Night Takeaway fashion, nothing happened as planned, and everything was a set-up.
Rylan’s prank started before he even got inside, when the hosts tampered with the door mechanism and shut him out.
So, by the time he was in front of the camera, his tolerance had run thin.
Rylan, on the other hand, stayed his cool and charming self as he shot in front of a green screen with a Belgian director who was also an actress.
Rylan unwittingly admits that he’smells of cheese’ and his fave snack is toenails after the fictional director has him repeat funny Armenian phrases.
And that was just the beginning, as a man dressed in a green morph costume arrived on the stage.
Rylan mistook the extra for a landmark and leaned against him, resting his bottom on the man’s feet, thinking he was the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
The guy also placed his complete cranium inside a globe, forcing Rylan to spin him around and bounce him like a ball.
His most hilarious moment, however, occurred when Rylan was charged with riding the green guy like a motorcycle, sitting on top of him as he wheeled away on a green skateboard.
Rylan had fans in stitches after earlier telling Ant and Dec that he didn’t even query the madness, given how wild Eurovision is!
The hoax reached a climax when the former Celebrity Big Brother victor presented Armenia’s 2023 candidate, who was also, you got it, a fake.
Ant and Dec were in clear site, dancing in penguin costumes with huge guitars behind her as she sang, with Rylan still oblivious.
Their identities were eventually exposed after the ‘live’ broadcast was forced to stop due to a fire in one of the penguins’ costumes.
Rylan, who was in a state of fear, couldn’t stop cursing.
When he found out what was really going on, he was able to laugh it all off, informing Ant and Dec in the studio that he was just ready to go along with it all.
‘I mean, working at Eurovision, none of it!’, he laughed, when Ant asked what the most ‘odd’ part of the day was.
On riding the green man like a Harley Davidson, he quipped: ‘I mean, it wasn’t a chore! But it wasn’t a choice.’
The whole thing gave audiences at home a belly laugh, as they also praised Rylan for being such a good sport.
‘So friendly and professional, good job @Rylan you were hilariously innocent on that prank’, one viewer tweeted.
‘Rylan took that like an absolute pro. Hilarious’, another wrote.
Taking to his own Twitter page, the former X Factor contestant stated: ‘Never using a green screen again’, and honestly, we don’t blame him.
Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway continues next Saturday at 7pm on ITV and ITVX.
