Sarah Parish stated that she previously fractured both of her heels while running after a cab at the conclusion of a wild night after attending a festival close to her residence.
The actress, who is 54 years old and appeared with David Tennant in the television series Broadchurch, recently disclosed that she broke both of her heels in an accident that kept her off her feet for several weeks.
In preparation for her next performance in the play Trouble in Butetown at the Donmar Warehouse in London, the actress is working on strengthening her legs so that she will be able to stand for long periods of time.
She sat down on the sofa of BBC’s The One Show in the midst of promotion for her most recent acting effort, and she divulged the details of the festival trip that ended up being a disaster.
Alex Jones, the host, questioned the actress about whether or not she was physically prepared to embark on the physically demanding part that will keep Sarah away from television screens.
In reaction to this, the actress from Stay Close related the time when she was trying to flee a festival by climbing over a wall but ended up breaking both of her heels in the process.

She said: ‘I was trying to get out of a music festival which is very near to where I live so we used to get free tickets every year and we always go on a Saturday night, have a few beers and come out.
‘Well this year, it hadn’t been on for a couple of years because of the pandemic and it had all changed so I couldn’t find the exit – the cab was ringing and I was desperate to get out.’
Sarah continued telling the story that had Alex and co-host Ronan Keating in stitches: ‘I thought it would be a good idea to climb up one of the marshall towers and jump over the fence to get out because I knew the cab was on the other side.’
‘Anyway, there were only a few beers but I think if I’d have had more beers I would have landed alright!’ she joked.
‘I burst both my heel bones and broke both my ankles so I couldn’t walk for about 10 or 11 weeks and then I was in those big boots and now I’m hobbling around but I’m doing alright.’
In the new drama, Sarah will play the part of an illegal boarding house proprietor, and the action will take place on Butetown, which is a neighbourhood located in the Cardiff docks.
She admitted that in order to prepare for the role, she was making an effort to become fluent in Welsh and commented on her development thus far, saying, “There are a couple of Welsh people in the cast and they give me a percentage of how well I’m doing so you know I’ll do a line and they’ll go “75%, next week I want 85%”.”
The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One from 7pm.
