Channel 4 is apparently cancelling SAS: Who Dares Wins after eight seasons.
The juggernaut reality series debuted on It’s A Sin in 2015 and has now spawned four celebrity spin-offs in addition to the main series.
The gruelling show follows a group of recruits as they go through a two-week training course in harsh locales throughout the world, simulating genuine UK military training.
However, Channel 4 has apparently chosen to cancel SAS: Who Dares Wins in order to’shift their attention’ to Celebrity SAS, which has put celebrities like Ferne McCann and AJ Odudu through their paces.
A spokesperson for the broadcaster said: ‘Due to the huge success of Celebrity SAS we have shifted our focus to prioritise this strand.
‘A longer, eight-part series is to commence filming in the summer,’ they continued to The Sun.
Ant Middleton, who formerly served in the Royal Marines, was the show’s initial host, but he was fired in 2021 for ‘personal behaviour.’
‘Ant Middleton will not be appearing in future episodes of SAS: Who Dares Wins,’ Channel 4 announced in a statement at the time.
‘Following a number of discussions Channel 4 and Minnow Films have had with him in relation to his personal conduct it has become clear that our views and values are not aligned and we will not be working with him again.’
Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham, a show veteran, assumed his post as chief teacher.
In the most current season, Billy was joined by Rudy Reyes, who was the series’ primary teacher last year, Jason Foxy Fox, and new recruit Chris Oliver, a 40-year-old former Special Forces operative and Royal Marines mountain leader who served in the special boat service.
SAS: Who Dares Wins is available to stream on All 4.
