Stacey Solomon will no longer feature on Bake Off: The Professionals, with Ellie Taylor taking over as presenter.
The 33-year-old TV broadcaster had presented the seventh season of the popular baking competition’s spin-off series.
Originally shown on BBC, the show transferred to Channel 4 in its third season in 2018.
It has been hosted by five different presenters since its start, beginning with Tom Kerridge and continuing with Angus Deayton, Tom Allen, and Liam Charles until Stacey joined in 2022.
However, it was confirmed on Friday that she would not be returning, with the character being filled up by Ellie, a comedian and Ted Lasso actor who also performed on the most current season of Strictly Come Dancing.
‘From Ted Lasso to tiramisu – we’re delighted to welcome Ellie Taylor as our new co-host on Bake Off: The Professionals alongside Liam Charles,’ a post on the Great British Bake Off Twitter account read.
‘Pastry chefs beware – judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden are also back for pud!’
It also confirmed that the next season would premiere this summer.
While Stacey’s departure was not mentioned directly, she did share the message on her own page.
‘So excited to watch this,’ she wrote, tagging Ellie and the show’s official page.
She added: ‘It’s going to be amazing! Can’t believe I missed out on chocolate week and opted for giving birth instead.’
While the Great British Bake Off pits amateur pastry cooks against one another, this competition pits professional pastry chefs against one another.
Stacey gave birth to her fifth kid earlier this year, the third with her husband Joe Swash, who most recently appeared on I’m A Celebrity…South Africa.
The 33-year-old subsequently revealed that they had called their new family member Belle, saying on social media: ‘Belle. Our little Belle. Our beautiful, delicate baby girl.’
Bake Off: The Professionals is streaming on All4.
