It won’t be long before Strictly Come Dancing returns to our screens, and the show’s professional dancers are excited to learn who their partners will be.
Angela Rippon, Zara McDermott, and Les Dennis are among the prominent famous names in the line-up when the tournament returns next month.
Bobby Brazier from EastEnders, Krishnan Guru-Murthy from Channel 4, and Amanda Abbington from Ms Selfridge are also competing.
Behind the scenes, it appears that Zara and Bobby, in particular, have grabbed the attention during the tough training sessions that take place before to the start of the show.
The Love Island star, 26, and Albert Square favourite, 20, are reportedly at the core of a ‘fight’ amongst the Strictly pros, who are all competing for the best coupling.
‘All the dancers want to be paired with [Zara and Bobby] because they both have serious potential on the dance floor,’ a source reported to The Sun.
More information on the backstage rumours was supplied by the source: There’s a struggle going on between the pros as they all strive to persuade their employers to get the best combination.’
‘They know their airtime is largely dependent on how talented their celebrity pairing is, so everything is to play for at this stage,’ they added.
Gorka, one of the show’s most popular pros and a three-time runner-up, is reportedly interested in Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach.
This is reported to be due to Gorka’s living condition; he presently resides in Manchester with actress and influencer Gemma Atkinson, where Ellie also resides.
Les, 69, and Angela, 78, the elder contenders, have both shocked the pros by adjusting swiftly throughout the training sessions.
‘Les raised a few eyebrows. He won’t be the joke act at all. He’s serious. And Angela surprised everyone with how swift she was across the dance floor.’
Amy Dowden, a Strictly professional, will be missing from this year’s series after being diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in the spring of 2023.
Amy disclosed after undergoing a mastectomy that she had been diagnosed with a second malignancy and would be unable to dance due to chemotherapy.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One this autumn.
