Many people are criticising Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas’ decision to award a perfect score three weeks into the tournament.
While this season of the BBC reality show has seen some spectacular routines and high scores thus far, fans have expressed confusion following a score from the most recent episode.
Shirley acknowledged her admiration for comedian Eddie Kadi’s dance with professional partner Karen Hauer on Saturday night.
This week, the couple performed a couple’s choice dance to the Men in Black theme song during Movie Week.
Eddie received high accolades from the judges, but Shirley’s reaction was amazing.
‘When you do something well, it needs rewarding. It was slick, it had style, it was edgy and entertaining, and you found your groove,’ she said.

‘Everything you love in dance you were able to bring today as a partnership.
‘I absolutely loved it.’
Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke all gave eights when it came to delivering their ratings.
Shirley stated it was ‘never too early for a 10 from Shirley’ as she announced her score.
Eddie collapsed to his knees in disbelief at hearing her score.
‘What just happened?’, asked Karen.
I like Shirley and I love Eddie, but ON NO PLANET was that a 10!! 🤦 #Strictly

Despite the excitement in the studio, many viewers at home disagreed with Shirley’s score.
‘Eddie & Karen’s dance was great. But Shirley a 10?’ one person posted on X, formerly Twitter.
‘Did Shirley just give Eddie a 10??? Yeah it is too early Shirley hun,’ someone else shared.
Another added: ‘Ok, I loved Eddie’s dance but…a TEN from Shirley?! I mean, come on…’

The result was a far cry from the previous week, when they only received 21 points out of a potential 40 for their cha cha.
Craig awarded them the lowest possible score of three, claiming that their routine was a “street dance” with “no cha cha technique whatsoever.”
Shirley rated the comic a five after criticising his stance and feet.
The Strictly Come Dancing results show airs from 7.15pm on Sunday on BBC One.
