Layton Williams of Strictly Come Dancing has been compelled to clarify a curious story about his origins.
The 29-year-old Bad Education actor has kept fans up to speed on his Strictly shenanigans and responded to cruel haters on social media.
But he’s now cleared the air regarding a bogus allegation about his youth, and we’re not sure where it all came from.
Layton responded to the allegation that he was born to a “billionaire father” on X, formerly known as Twitter, with a screenshot of his Wikipedia page.
He wrote, clarifying he meant to add ‘not’ in: ‘FYI, I was raised on a council estate in Bury. Unfortunately my Dad is/was/(will probs never be) a billionaire.’
‘This feels like Tracey Beaker lies,’ one fan joked.
Another laughed: ‘Don’t you love finding out ‘facts’ about yourself online.’

This comes after Layton admitted to spilling some NSFW tea when speaking with Kathy Burke, revealing a bit too much.
Not only did his grandmother wash and fold his gorgeous pants, but Layton’s mother searched through his drawers and was astounded to discover his douche.
Layton was understandably upset.
Explaining what he’s terrified on for people to find after his death on Kathy’s Where There’s A Will There’s A Wake podcast, he said: ‘Surely nobody wants their sexy things found by their family.
‘I had a really embarrassing moment when my nan came to stay with me a few weeks back, and we were rushing to get ready so she was helping me hang out the washing, and I forgot that I had my sexy underwear in there.
‘I went outside and on the pegs were all these inappropriate sexy wear.’
As if it wasn’t awful enough, his grandmother attempted to salvage the situation.
‘I was mortified,’ Layton continued. ‘She went, “Don’t worry darling, we all have them!”
‘That was even worse! I don’t want to think about the fact that you’ve got them now as well.’
He added: ‘I would want my mates to sneak in first and hide my sexy bits and bobs.

‘You don’t want your mum finding your douche… actually she found it the other day!’
As Layton tried to explain to Kathy, 59, what exactly a douche was, until she figured it out, he laughed: ‘I don’t want my mum finding stuff like that!’
‘I need to start putting locks on my drawers!’
Elsewhere on the podcast, Layton spoke about his ‘attachment’ to Strictly partner Nikita Kuzmin, saying: ‘He’s the most amazing person and so unfazed by all of the things that come with it.
‘He’s so happy to have me on his arm, no matter what I’m dressed as, he’s the ally that we need.’
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
