After being off TV for almost a decade, Survivor is back, and a new teaser for the new season gives us a first look at what to expect.
The British version of the survival reality show only ran for two seasons before it was cancelled. It first aired in 2001.
But the BBC said last year that it would bring the show back and put a new group of people through their paces after leaving them alone on a remote island.
The first clip from the upcoming show has been released, and it already shows how tough the tasks will be for the group as they try to win £100,000 and the title of “Sole Survivor.”
Even though the host, comic Joel Dommett, seems to be having a nice time on the boat ride to the Dominican Republic, he quickly makes it clear that the contestants won’t be having as much fun once they get there.
‘Welcome to a remote corner of the world, where 18 people will take part in the toughest, most challenging show on television,’ he begins.

‘They’ve come to fight it out in a strategic game that will push them physically, mentally and emotionally.
‘Who will outwit, outplay and outlast all the others to become the sole survivor?.’
From the air, you can see people doing things like throwing things onto homemade boats, which they then have to swim to shore with. In another shot, contestants throw themselves off tall tarpaulin waterslides.

Today, the clip aired during coverage of Wimbledon. In it, Joel said that “stress was building” like it would for the upcoming final of the tennis event.
The clip then concluded with Joel walking along the beach before declaring: ‘This is Survivor. Coming to BBC One this Autumn.’
As one fan of the series shared on social media after seeing the video: ‘OMG THE #Survivor UK trailer just dropped during #Wimbledon and I got GOOSEBUMPS! 🔥💪🏻.’

Survivor is one of the most watched reality TV shows in the world. In 2022, the show will have been on the air for 25 years. It was first shown in Sweden in 1997.
Variety has since named it the best reality show of all time, and 50 different copies have been made all over the world.
The American version of the show on CBS has been on for more than 40 years.
For those who don’t know or have forgotten because it’s been so long, the contestants are called “Castaways,” and they are left alone in a faraway place without any of the pleasures of home.
They have to take care of their own food, water, fire, and shelter, and they have to fight in tasks to win prizes and keep from being eliminated.
The players are taken out of the game one by one by the other players. The last player standing wins the title and a cash prize.
Early this year, when Joel said he was going to be on the show, he said he couldn’t believe he was being asked.
‘It’s such a hugely popular format all over the world and I’m super excited to help bring it to our sweet little country, he said.
Survivor will air on BBC later this year.
