Lord Alan Sugar ousted The Apprentice star Sohail Chowdhary, but fate brought him together with Tim Campbell in a ‘wonderful’ encounter after the competition.
Sohail’s team failed a challenge on Friday night’s episode of the BBC programme in which they were faced with building a lunchbox oriented for six-to-eight-year-olds, as well as an app that would both encourage healthy eating and be appealing.
In the week 7 boardroom, the martial arts school owner confronted Lord Sugar’s wagging finger, revealing that he ‘felt ready’ to be sent home before learning the business magnate’s decision.
During a recent interview with Metro.co.uk, he remembered an occasion when he was travelling from Southampton to London and met Lord Sugar’s aide Tim on the train, when they both climbed into the exact same carriage, seconds apart.
‘I had this insane experience, because imagine – I’m on the way to London from Southampton and I’m getting onto the train, I made it with like 30 seconds to spare. Next thing you know, someone comes running on with five seconds to spare. He looks up at me, he’s like, “Sohail?” And I’m like, “Tim?”’ he recollected.
‘We’re getting the same train from Southampton to London. It was such a surreal experience. Tim is such a gentleman as well right – he pays for my first class upgrade, literally takes me to first class.’

Sohail shared how bowled over he felt by Tim’s generosity, explaining that he told the former Apprentice winner: ‘Tim, I would pay to talk to you, why are you paying for my first class upgrade? Let me pay.’
Nonetheless, Tim persisted on paying, with Sohail praising him as ‘such a gentleman’.
‘We had an amazing conversation. I can’t speak highly enough about Tim. He’s just such a gentleman it’s unreal. And the advice that he gives is just priceless,’ he added.
The voyage they were both taking to London had nothing to do with The Apprentice; they were just travelling the same train to the English metropolis at the same time.
‘It was so surreal,’ Sohail acknowledged, remembering how Tim was wearing a cap ‘because he probably gets noticed everywhere’.
‘And he comes rushing on with five seconds [to spare], the exact same door of the whole train. It was just odd. So so odd but an amazing thing,’ he said.

Following his removal, Sohail rushed to Instagram to express his thanks for the viewers’ support, writing: ‘I was ready to bow out. Thank you for the support everyone!’
He then confessed that his company’s website, AG Martial Arts, had ‘crashed’ owing to heavy demand.
The Apprentice returns next Thursday at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
